Compare Domain Authority Side by Side

Enter two or more domains to see DA, PA and DR compared directly, with the leader on each metric highlighted.

Visual guide

Three metrics. Two scopes.

DA

Whole domain

Moz's prediction of a domain's ranking strength. Scale: 1–100.

PA

One page

Moz's prediction for an individual URL. Scale: 1–100.

DR

Whole domain

Ahrefs' measure of backlink profile strength. Scale: 0–100.

DA and DR cover the domain; PA covers one URL. Different indexes and models mean the scores are not interchangeable.

Why compare domains instead of checking one at a time?

A DA of 35 means very different things depending on your niche. Comparing your site directly against 2-4 real competitors, in one view, tells you far more than a single score in isolation. Use this before a content or link-building push to see exactly where the gap is, or before a domain purchase to sanity-check it against similar sites already in your space.

How to read a side-by-side comparison

Start with the spread, not the individual numbers. If every domain sits within a few points of the others, authority is not what separates them in the SERP, and your effort belongs in content or relevance instead.

A wide spread tells the opposite story. When the top result sits thirty points above everyone else, that gap is the thing to plan around, and closing it is a matter of months of earned links rather than a content refresh.

Comparing before you buy a domain

Expired and auction domains are sold on their authority score, which is exactly why that score deserves scrutiny. Put the domain beside two or three legitimate sites in the same niche and the outliers become obvious.

Watch for authority that looks out of proportion to everything else. A domain with DA well above its peers but a poor Spam Score is usually a rebuilt expired domain trading on history it no longer earns. Check it on the spam score checker before committing money.

Comparing your own site over time

Comparison is also useful against your past self. Record where you and your competitors sit today, then re-run the same set in three months to see who actually moved.

Relative change is the signal worth tracking. If everyone rose, the index shifted; if only you rose, the work is compounding. A single score in isolation cannot tell those two situations apart.

Comparing more than five domains

This tool holds five domains for readability. For longer lists, the bulk domain authority checker takes up to 100 at once and exports to CSV.

The usual workflow is to run the long list in bulk, shortlist the handful worth real attention, then bring those back here to read side by side.
