What a PA checker measures
A PA checker estimates the ranking strength of one specific page, on a 1–100 scale. It answers a narrower question than Domain Authority: not “how strong is this site?” but “how strong is this page?”
That distinction matters most when you are buying links or guest posts. A DA 45 site sounds impressive until you check the actual page your link will sit on and find it at PA 3, buried where nothing links to it.
Page Authority vs Domain Authority
The two scores move on different timescales. DA reflects years of accumulated domain-wide link equity and changes slowly. PA can climb quickly when a single page earns links, and can sit near zero indefinitely when it does not.

How to improve Page Authority
PA responds to links pointing at that exact URL, so the work is page-level rather than site-level. Internal links from your strongest existing pages are the fastest lever, and the one most people leave unused.
Beyond that, PA rises for the same reason any page earns links: it is worth citing. Original data, a genuinely useful free tool, or a guide that answers the question better than what currently ranks. There is no shortcut that skips this.

Page Authority is a score from 1 to 100 that predicts how well a single page — not a whole site — is likely to rank in search results. It was originally developed by Moz and is calculated primarily from the links pointing to that specific URL.
DA scores an entire domain; PA scores one page on it. A site with DA 50 can have a brand-new page sitting at PA 1, because that page has not earned any links of its own yet. Use DA to judge a site, PA to judge a page.
There is no universal threshold. PA is only meaningful compared against the other pages competing for your target keyword. If the pages ranking on page one average PA 35, then PA 40 is strong and PA 15 is not.
